Tree of Hope, an aviation-based charity, began at Nary, MN in 1991 by Ray and Celeste Shefland, a Nurse Anesthetist and RN, respectively and, an impressive flying family. The Sheflands noticed many children spending time in the hospital over the holidays. Some dealing with major or terminal illnesses, some recovering from surgery or an accident. Many far from home and missing their families and friends, often, only one parent can stay with the child and "holiday gift" money is spent on lodging rather than presents. This is NOT the way for any child to spend their holidays!
Tree of Hope, a 501(c)(3), has grown to include over 37 hospitals in Minnesota, Wisconsin, and North Dakota, five Ronald McDonald Houses and two Catholic Charities children shelters.
Your support and contributions towards the annual general & administrative costs of Tree of Hope makes it possible to continue delivering gifts to hospitalized children over the holidays.
